Honey Recipes to Relish and Cherish

When people say that nature rules everything around, it sounds impractical, but Honey is the perfect example of the blending between nature and us. It is a sweet substance obtained from honey-bees. The bees suck nectar from the flowers for their metabolism and storage of extra food as sugar. It is extracted from the beehives and stored in honey combs. It is further purified and stored for long time. However, it can be used without purification too. It is the healthiest and purest even in its nascent stage. To me, the whole process almost sounds like a fiction or a fairy-tale. It’s beautifully weaved between the two protagonist. Flowers have their share of nectar in them while the bees suck their part. We, humans get the most nutritional honey only because of their union. The story seems spectacular because we cannot have nectar as honey whereas the only way is the bees.

We are usually careless about our health. We do not realise the power of nature to heal. After a lot of difficulty, I have practised  Ayurvedic dincharya for a month now. Honestly, honey made me realise how phenomenal is the connection of mind, body and soul to the nature. I began my day with one of my favourite honey recipes – super energising Honey Ginger Tea. It is a source of instant energy. It contains highly digestive forms of carbohydrates. It combats all the laziness and fills the body with liveliness. It is the best remedy for all sleepy heads out there.


Boil water with crushed ginger in a pan. Add two tablespoon of tea leaves and simmer it for a minute. Pour the mix in a glass, once it is luke warm, add a table spoon of honey and few drops of lemon. Your cup of energy is ready in ten minutes.

PS: Please do not add honey to hot water as it looses its nutritional value.


This tea drives away streaks of headache and body ache and keeps you at your best. My lavishing lunch included beans with honey. Beans contain Fibre, folate and iron. When cooked with honey the amount of spices we put in it to demolish its actual nutritional value gets reduced. Thus, we savour our self in a nourishing and mouth-watering beans.  It is beneficial in preventing heart problems, ulcers and cancer. My prolonged woes of gastro-intestinal problems were also solved.


Boil the overnight soaked beans in honey for 10 minutes. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil, add onion and chilli and saute it. Put the boiled beans and add salt to taste. After 5 minutes of cooking, add half cup of water. Mix them well and boil for minute or two. Pour the kidney beans into a bowl and once it is just slightly warm, add 2 teaspoons of honey to it. The taste is incredible. Eat with chapatti or rice.


Having a mixture of each taste helps in keeping the digestion proper without any side effects. Time for a light dinner. I made sure that my dinner included my favourite sweetener so that I am able to find out how it benefits my body after a month.  I had a delicious dinner of carrot and honey soup.


Cut the pieces of carrot and add garlic, vegetable stock, and salt. Heat it in simmer until the carrots are tender. Blend in a blender and add cream. Add a fine mixture of corn flour and water. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Add 1 table spoon of honey to the soup just before serving. The very smell of the soup will make you fall in love with the food. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties of this magic potion helps in fighting the germs. Also it improves the skin. Any wound or hurt throughout the day is healed by this satisfying dinner of honey.

The cheat code for honey recipes

I love experimenting and discovering new things. Therefore, apart from what is already a health chart, I tried something that could benefit me in another way. I have always been suffering from cough and cold. For a month, just before I went to bed, I had one glass of Luke warm water and after that a tablespoon of this magical golden syrup.

PS: Do not drink water after intake of honey. Let it be the last thing that your mouth tastes.



Sore throat, cold, cough is cured within few days. Continue this for couple of months to see long term result. It will also help those who are struggling for weight loss. Two gone with one stone!
